A number of cable-cars and chair-lifts in the surrounding area take you safely and quickly up to the starting point for a choice of great mountain excursions and easy walks.

The cable-car Unterstell-Naturno goes up from Naturno (554 mt.) to Untersell (1,282 mt.) on the Sonnenberg.
The modern, 25 person capacity lift, leaves Naturno for the Sonnenberg, a hiker's paradise, in the heart of the Texel Nature Park.

315 days of sunshine a year help make this the ideal area for ramblers and hikers. The south-facing Sonnenberg gets more sunshine than the other side of the valley and the exceptional mild climate means that its flora ands fauna are special, too. The steppe-like countryside, rare animals such as the Emerald Lizard and unusual, energy-rich minerals are just a few of the area's special attractions.

The friendly farmers and mountain folk with the isolated little farm houses are things visitors never forget. Numerous clearly- marked, well-maintained paths meander all over the mountain sides and criss-cross over the most famous of them all, the Merano High Path, which meanders through the Texel Nature Park giving excellent viewpoints out over the surrounding countryside and high mountain peaks. A number of cosy mountain chalets and little guest houses provide bed-and-breakfast accommodation for guests who wish to stay the night.
Just grab a pair of strong, good-quality walking shoes or hiking boots and ….. you're sure to enjoy yourself amidst such beautiful surroundings! A relaxing stroll with such fantastic scenery all around, some traditional, home-made food and a thirst-quenching drink on the sunny terrace of one of the welcoming little farms or mountain chalets and you'll soon forget the stress-and-strain of everyday life!
