Nordic Walking
Naturno offers Nordic Walking fans a choice of more than 65 km. of well-maintained, clearly marked paths of easy, medium and more difficult category. The ten routes cover a difference in altitude from 554mt. to 1,700mt. with two access points, the first at the Nischlhof farm at 554mt. and the second at the Unterstell cable-car station at 1,300mt. Both starting points can be reached on foot or by car or you can take the cable-car up to Unterstell if you prefer. Boards at both access points give essential information about Nordic Walking technique and details of the routes, their length, differences in altitude and tips for Warm Up and Cool Down exercises.
It is easy to learn the technique of Nordic Walking and the sport is perfect for all of us, young or old, fit or not, well-trained or beginners. It is good for general muscle training and stimulates the circulation while the sticks help protect the joints. You do not need much equipment either - just a pair of soft, well-fitting shoes, comfortable clothing and light-weight, telescopic sticks. Günther, our Nordic Walking instructor, is on hand every Tuesday to help you. You can borrow sticks from the Naturno Tourist Authority Office free-of-charge for a trial session.
